LX2 cutting 4mm ply fine on the left, not through on the right

Consistent problem: cuts through cleanly on the left third of the bed, doesn't quite make it through on the right. Same file, same material sheet.

Cleaned the lens, checked the material is flat with hold-downs. Any ideas before I start emailing support?

Classic gantry-not-parallel-to-bed symptom. Focus is right on the left, off by a fraction on the right, so the same power under-cuts.

Check it like this:

  1. Put a strip of scrap right across the bed, left to right.
  2. Engrave one long thin line at low power across the whole strip.
  3. Look at line width. If it thickens toward one side, your working distance is changing across the bed.

Fix in order of likelihood: material not flat (use magnets/hold-downs, or a honeycomb bed), then bed/riser base not level, then the laser module mounting base being slightly loose — that last one is worth checking on the LX2 because the mount bolts can settle after a few hundred hours. Tighten them evenly, don't crank.

If the line width is even but the cut still fails on one side, then you're looking at focus offset over the sensor, and that's a support conversation.

Line test showed exactly that — thicker on the right. Two of the module mounting bolts had backed off slightly. Snugged them, re-levelled, cuts through everywhere now. Excellent call.
