Privacy Policy

This policy explains what LaserPecker Forum collects, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

Account data — email address, username, display name, hashed password, and anything you choose to add to your profile (bio, location, website, machines, avatar, cover image).

Content — topics, replies, showcase posts, comments, material settings, reviews and listings you create, together with timestamps.

Commerce data — orders, order references, amounts, the files you're entitled to, and download counts.

Technical data — a session cookie, plus standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) kept for security and debugging.

Newsletter — your email address, if you sign up in the footer.

We do not run advertising trackers, and we don't sell personal data.

Cookies

One essential cookie (lpf_session) keeps you signed in. Your theme choice is stored in your browser's local storage, not sent to us. That's it — there's no analytics cookie banner because there's nothing to consent to.

Why we process it

  • To operate your account and show your content (contract).
  • To deliver files you've bought and keep a record of your entitlements (contract, legal obligation).
  • To moderate the community and keep it safe (legitimate interests).
  • To send the newsletter, if you asked for it (consent — unsubscribe any time).

Payments

When live card payments are enabled, card details are captured and processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your card number. We keep the order record and reference.

Sharing

We share data with the infrastructure providers that run this site (hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing) and with nobody else, unless we're legally required to.

When you buy a file, the selling member sees that a purchase occurred, the file, the amount and your display name — not your email address.

Retention

Account and content data is kept while your account is open. Order and entitlement records are kept for seven years for accounting purposes. Server logs are kept for 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete your account, object to processing, or withdraw newsletter consent. Email hello@laserpeckerforum.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your profile and anonymises your posts. Purchase records are retained as above.

Children

The site isn't intended for under-16s and we don't knowingly collect their data.
