Licensing

Every file sold on LaserPecker Forum carries one of three licence tiers. The tier is shown on the listing, in your order, and in a licence file inside the download.

Plain English first

You can use the file to make physical items. At Commercial and Extended tiers you can sell those items.

You cannot resell, share, gift or redistribute the file itself — at any tier, modified or not, ever.

The tiers

Personal

  • Make items for yourself, your household, and as gifts.
  • No sale of finished items.
  • No commercial use of any kind.

Commercial

  • Everything in Personal.
  • Sell finished physical items you make from the file, in unlimited quantity, through any channel.
  • Modify the file for your own production needs.
  • You may not sell, share or redistribute the file, or any derivative of it as a file.

Extended

  • Everything in Commercial.
  • Use the file (or derivatives) within your own product designs, workshops and teaching materials.
  • Still no redistribution of the file itself as a digital product.

What counts as redistribution

Uploading to another marketplace or file-sharing service; including it in a bundle you sell; passing it to a client, colleague or family member; posting it in a Facebook group or Discord; publishing it on your website. All prohibited, at every tier.

If a client needs the file, they buy their own licence.

Attribution

Not required, always appreciated. If you post a photo of something made from a community file, crediting the maker is good manners and good for them.

Free files

Free listings carry the licence tier the seller chose, exactly like paid ones. "Free" is a price, not a licence — check the tier on the listing.

Enforcement

Redistribution is the fastest way to lose your account here. We act on credible reports from sellers, and we cooperate with rights holders. Report suspected piracy to sellers@laserpeckerforum.com.

Sellers

You set the tier per listing and you keep copyright in your work. The licence granted to buyers is between you and them; we provide the framework and the delivery. See the Seller Terms.

This summary describes the standard licence framework of the site. Individual listings may add seller-specific terms, which apply in addition. Have your own terms reviewed if you sell at volume.
